Jon Peterson Scholarship – Enhancing Educational Opportunities for Students with Special Needs
The Jon Peterson Scholarship, available through the Ohio Department of Education (ODE), provides up to $32,445 per year for students who qualify for special education services, have an active Individualized Education Program (IEP), and are not enrolled in public school.
How It Works:
- Application Submission: Submit a simple application along with proof of address to your provider. Your provider will submit the application to the ODE.
- Approval Process: Applications are typically approved within two weeks. Upon approval, you will be notified of the scholarship amount. The scholarship period runs from July 1st to June 30th each year, with amounts prorated based on the application date.
- Service Provision: Once approved, your child can begin receiving services billed directly to the ODE. As a parent, you can choose any ODE-approved provider that offers services outlined in your child’s IEP.
The MINDscapes Approach:
At MINDscapes, we streamline the application process by collecting basic information and submitting the application to the ODE on your behalf. Upon approval, we collaborate with you to create an education and service plan tailored to your child’s IEP. Our team offers a combination of in-person and teletherapy appointments to meet diverse needs.
